Inspect country evidence, compare the same traffic quantity and download the records behind each finding.

**Quick answer**

African proxy research at AfricaProxies covers 49 countries and territories in two datasets, reviewed on 14–15 October 2026. The coverage index compares documented locations and a common 50 GB price basis. The rules matrix separates legal actors, activities and unresolved questions. Download their source records directly; neither dataset measures live inventory or network performance.

## Choose the evidence you need

- **[Coverage and price index](/data/africa-proxy-coverage-index/)** — Compare provider documentation, 50 GB totals, entry requirements and traffic validity. Open the country matrix and follow each source.
- **[Crypto and proxy rules](/data/crypto-and-proxy-legality-africa/)** — Review payment, provider-licensing and data-use evidence for 49 locations. Keep confirmed text separate from unresolved legal questions.

## Download the research files

The files below are the records used in the two reports. No account or payment is required.

- [Coverage and prices — CSV](https://africaproxies.com/data/africa-proxy-coverage-index.csv) — 245 country/provider records; sources, dates and price units
- [Coverage and prices — JSON](https://africaproxies.com/data/africa-proxy-coverage-index.json) — The same records with evidence definitions and provider terms
- [Country rules — CSV](https://africaproxies.com/data/crypto-and-proxy-legality-africa.csv) — 49 location records; actor, activity, source and review date

## How do the two datasets work together?

A price comparison starts with a specific market and quantity. For a Nigeria project, find Nigeria in the coverage report, distinguish a published country listing from tested availability, then compare the 50 GB column rather than a promotional entry headline. Traffic validity and a recurring subscription can change which offer fits a one-off study. An empty exact quote stays empty instead of becoming an invented estimate.

Next, review the country-rules record for the buyer and intended activity. A Nigerian exit and a Ghana-based buyer are different facts; an exit country does not establish where a buyer may pay or what data a project may collect. The rules report separates residents, merchants, regulated providers and target access. It identifies the primary text supporting each finding and the limits of that text.

## What do the evidence labels mean?

**Published** means a relevant first-party residential product or location document was inspected. **Listed** means the location appears in a broader catalogue whose product scope needs separate checking. **Operator-confirmed** identifies our own dated coverage statement. **Unknown** means this edition has not established that fact; it does not mean that the provider lacks the country.

These labels describe the source record. They do not certify an IP online in a named city, a supplied carrier, measured speed or a successful purchase. A retailer can also change prices, delivery rules and page access independently of a proxy provider. Preserve the observed country, language, currency and delivery settings in a separate project record.

## Using and citing the research

### Can I read the evidence without creating an account?

Yes. Both reports and their CSV or JSON downloads are public. Start with the report for definitions, then use the download when you need to filter locations or compare a fixed traffic quantity. Account creation and crypto funding concern the proxy service; they are not requirements for inspecting this research.

### How should I cite a finding?

Name AfricaProxies as the compiler, identify the dataset and its edition date, and retain the original source URL and the row’s checked date. Quote the actor and activity being described. A sentence about regulated virtual-asset providers should not become a statement that every resident payment is permitted.

### Has every country’s legal position been verified?

The matrix records the evidence found and the questions it does not settle. A first-party warning, a consultation and an enacted rule have different meanings. Where the reviewed material does not establish a merchant-payment position or a data-collection permission, the record says so instead of supplying a universal legal verdict.

### How can I submit a correction?

Use the contact page with the dataset, country code, field and primary-source URL supporting the correction. Include the document’s publication date and the passage whose scope differs from our summary. A reproducible correction can distinguish a changed rule, an outdated link or an entry whose product coverage was interpreted too broadly.
